I've had some pain/stiffness relief with voltaren gel for other things like my hands, but I doubt it works very well for post surgical pain. Voltaren gel has worked for my knees, but I have the stuff running out of my ears! Every month and 1/2 my prescription pharmacy would send 15 more tubes of Voltaren so now I have it in boxes on my shelves. Voltaren gel is a topical anti-inflammatory Kim. Can be very effective. You can certainly use it for knee pain (once your scar is fully healed), but be careful not to take oral anti-inflammatories at the same time, otherwise you run the risk of absorbing more than the recommended daily dosage.
