Epocrates ibuprofen pediatric dosing

I used Epocrates as a med student and just started intern year. My epocrates subscription just expired, so I need a replacement. Lexi-comp seems pretty nice. Is the Lexi-comp Clinical Suite equivalent to Epocrates Essentials? Any reason to choose one over the other? Thanks! But as folks have mentioned, the drug database on epocrates is free to download. In terms of the other stuff (diagnoses) available on epocrates, when you get to med school, your school usually will get you a free subscription to use -- i wouldn't pay the subscription price on your own for the couple of times you might actually use it. It runs adequately. Epocrates continues to add features to their suite of software, so it's actually relatively slow on other platforms as well. However, once it's up and running, then you can do things quickly. Can you leave epocrates on all the time (like Palm pilots) and just have the iphone/touch enter sleep mode? So does Epocrates, under Pharmacology. Anyway, Epocrates is useful for when people like to use brand names for medications, as well as dosing, adverse reactions/contraindications, and mechanism of action. Pocket Medicine is better suited for medical management/empiric treatments on the fly. I am confused about which product to purchase. It looks like Epocrates SxDx is pretty similar to the 5MCC, and Epocrates even admits to partnering with 5MCC to develop SxDx. As a 3rd year student, is Epocrates Essentials a good enough product, or does 5MCC have more features so that I should. Does anyone know any current discount or coupon codes for Lexi or Epocrates? I'm going to get one of these tools soon for my PDA. I've heard that drug reps and their pharm companies offer these kinds of incentives to students, but I'm not sure if I want to go down that path. And my school. Epocrates essentials is way better than normal epocrates. Doesn't quite have the level of detail of uptodate but in the free phone app market it is by far superior to anything else I have seen. I want to go with the combination of Medscape + Epocrates(free) on rotations over Lexi-Complete Is this going to be enough? Thoughts? Just trying to guage peoples opinion on which is the better/more useful program as I am trying to decide between the two. Currently using the Epocrates free drug list and flying through the free demos on lexi-comp. Prices Epocrates $140 for one year Lexi comp +1yronline $325. Hey all, Just wondering if getting the annual Epocrates plus subscription would be worth it for intern year. It's 175$ for the year I believe but gives you access to quite a few other features. Also is it looked upon negatively to have all your resources be electronic. Will nurses try to tell.
