Hood Classics and Barrio Classics

The idea of the hood classics of cinema came up… Boyz n the Hood, Menace II Society, Belly, South Central, Colors, New Jersey Drive.

So of course I go to the barrio Classics,

70s Walk Proud, Blvd Nights

80s Colors, Duke Of Earl, La Bamba, Stand and Deliver.

90s  Mi Vida Loca, Blood in Blood out, American Me, Mi Familia.

Am I missing any? Do you see anything problematic with this list?

Is it time for another barrio story? Maybe one that doesn’t take place in California.

All love to the Classics!!
