I bet I tried 20 different NSAIDS before the anti-TNFs came out, and the only thing that every helped me was Indocin and only at 200 mg/day. I do think Voltaren Gel does some good, in my neck and back. I've had some pain/stiffness relief with voltaren gel for other things like my hands, but I doubt it works very well for post surgical pain. If I take 2 Tylenol and use Voltaren I'm good for the day, but I don't know if I should do that for the rest of my life; I'm 69. I've had it X-rayed and they said mild degenerative arthritis - no knee replacement needed. Just an update. My doctor and posters (Thanks Jen) were helpful with the decision to stop using Voltaren so I have been just using Aleve probably 440 mg per day. I do not use it every day probably every 3rd day before by Remicade treatment which is on the 8th of September. For about 2 week. Every month and 1/2 my prescription pharmacy would send 15 more tubes of Voltaren so now I have it in boxes on my shelves.
