Ever since I updated the OS on my MacBook Pro to Big Sur 11.6. iTunes won't leave me alone. It keeps wanting me to sign in, over and over. How do I make it STOP? My me.com password is not my Apple ID password - I can’t remember the me.com email password so can’t get emails in a new device. Does anyone know how to recover the email password? iCloud (and @me.com) mail is standard IMAP and you can access it in your mail application using the settings here: Mail server settings for iCloud email clients - Apple Support You cannot create an @me.com address. Apple’s MobileMe service was killed off in 2012. Anyone with a working @me.com or @mac.com now is using that as nothing more than an alias to the @icloud.com account they must have created prior to the MobileMe shutdown in 2012. Anyone who did not do that prior to 2012 lost their @mac.com and @me.com email addresses for good. The only email addresses. The same thing has been happening to me since roughly the second week of May 2023. I even have Tap or Swipe to Wake disabled -- and yet, it has been happening increasingly often that I take the phone out of my pocket and see that it's locked due to an invalid PIN being entered. The switch to me.com was relatively seamless and transparent (and one less key press -- yay!). In fact, I could still send and receive mac.com mail through me.com, up to a few days ago. @me is an alias for @iCloud. Use your @me username to set up iCloud.
