Depakote long
hi. i am a 32 year old female who has taken 4500mg of Depakote for 14 years.i have recently stopped taking it due to the swelling, weight gain and effects on my liver. i am now taking Zonegran. does anyone happen to know the side effects of coming off of that much Depakote? i would really appreciate any help you can give me. We found that her seizure activity increased at night and kept her up prior to being on it. NOw that her seizures are controlled she is sleeping better. I have been taking Depakote for only a short time now and have experienced a few of the side affects listed. Ever since I started taking Depakote I have been really tense, agitated and short tempered. I don't recall my doctor listing this as a normal possible side affect, and haven't really found much info on it being a side affect of the drug. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced.
